International Womens Day 2017
Wednesday 8 March 2017, 10am - 7pm

A day of inspirational guest speakers, films, performances, workshops and demonstrations to celebrate women and their achievements.
 
The Womens Equality network will host a discussion panel consisting of inspirational women in leadership roles, performances artist Liz Clarke will help you to discover your Super Hero Alter Ego and you can finish off your day with laughs by seeing the female comedian Grainne Maguire. 
 
Timetable of the day:

10am-11.30am   PANEL DISCUSSION- University of South Wales in partnership with Howeste University, Bruges, Belgium and The Riverfront will host a discussion around sexual health and well-being for women.

12pm                 Event Launch by Newport Council Leader Debbie Wilcox. Performance by the Collective Community Choir (Singergise Ltd.) with participants from Charter Housing, The Share Centre, Cascapella and Community House Interfaith Group. 
 
12pm-5pm         Information stalls. Free workshops including yoga, pilates, hula hooping, DJ and singing. 
                        Guest speakers include Martin Dacey, Head of Gwent Education Minority Ethnic Service (GEMS), Rachel Williams, Domestic Abuse survivor and Ambassador for Welsh Women's Aid, Teleri Gray, Welsh Romani Artists and Mair Rigby, Director of the Welsh Women's Equality Network.

2pm-3pm            Liz Clarke's Super Hero Alter Ego workshop. During the day Liz will also be running an hour long taster session, that will enable you to find out more about the themes behind the work, ask Liz (and Betty) questions, and find out how you can get more involved in CannonballistaDuring the hour we will also do some collective fun exercises to access our own Super Hero Alter Egos!
 
4pm-6pm            After School Free Family Fun, including craft workshops, circus skills and Tony the Balloon Man.
 
6pm - 7.15pm      Panel Discussion hosted by Women's Equality Network discussing the theme of the day Be Bold For Change - Creating an Equal Future featuring all the guest speakers from the day.

7.20pm - 7.35pm Soul'd As Seen Choir (Singergise Ltd) Peformance in the foyer.
 
7.45pm               Comedian Grainne Maguire.

Free for all day activities, although tickets need to be booked for Liz Clarke's  Super Hero Aler Ego workshop. Also tickets for Grainne Maguire are £13, Reductions £11.
